Spent Grain Dog Treats with Pumpkin

  • Author: Sarah John

  • Total Time: 2 hours 45 minutes

Description

This is a riff on my first spent grain dog treat recipe. I swapped pumpkin in for peanut butter and changed the ratios a bit. With only 4 ingredients, it is pretty easy!!!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups spent grain
  • 3 cups flour*
  • 1 cup pumpkin
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions

  • Pre-heat over to 350 F
  • Combine ingredients in large mixing bowl. Mix with a spatula or knead with your hands.
  • Use a rolling pin to roll out dough on a well floured surface. Use a cookie cutter to cut out treats. Alternatively, you can shape treats by hand.
  • Bake treats on cookie sheet for 25 minutes.
  • Remove treats from oven and lower heat to 200 degrees.
  • When oven has cooled, return treats and cook on 200 for about 2 hours to dry them out

Notes

*If dough is too wet, add a bit more flour.
